New Western District Governor named

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Former Senator Tuiagamoa Tavai has been appointed the new Western District Governor. This decision was reached during a meeting of the Chiefs of the Western Counties in Leone on Saturday.

Vice President of the Senate, Magalei Logovi’i Magalei, confirmed Tuiagamoa's appointment. In his statement, Magalei emphasized the importance of leadership continuity and the confidence the Chiefs have in Tuiagamoai’s ability to serve the community effectively.

Additionally, Magalei announced that an official letter of endorsement detailing Tuiagamoa’s appointment would be promptly submitted to the Office of Samoan Affairs. This correspondence signifies the formal recognition of Tuiagamoa’s new role and responsibilities.

Tuiagamoa takes this position following the appointment of Fa’aivae Iuli Alex Godient as the Secretary of Samoan Affairs.
