... AND THE WINNERS ARE!
reporters@samoanews.com

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a press release from the sponsors and coordinators of Wired To Your Future’s 3rd Veterans Day Show & Shine and Reggae Jam Festival, dated Nov. 12, 2024, they “clarify that the event was for the community and does not endorse or promote political parties and their platforms or candidates for political office.”

The event was held at the Veterans Memorial Stadium, Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, and according to the press release, the artist, Tenelle, publicly endorsed one of the campaigns on stage.

It explains that Tenelle was not a part of the lineup “but requested to do an appearance free of charge to support the efforts of Wired to Your Future.”

It continues, “the sponsors and coordinators had no knowledge of her intention to use their platform and stage to promote a single campaign.

“The sponsors and coordinators have put in countless hours to give the community a free fun-filled nonpolitical daylong event for all ages.

“It is unfortunate that all the efforts that have been put forth was overshadowed by Tenelle’s foolish behavior,” it states.

The press release notes that “Wired To Your Future’s goal for this car show was to tip their hats to all our veterans and to promote the craft of automotive customizations within our youth and community by creating an atmosphere that embraces and celebrates the automotive industry.

“This was a wonderful opportunity for students to see that this craft can become more than just a hobby but an actual trade.”

It concludes that “Wired To Your Future appreciates everyone that came out to support the 3rd Veterans Day Show & Shine and Reggae Jam Festival” and sends out a “big fa’afetai tele lava to all the sponsors and coordinators that made this event successful.”
