Count 2: Assault in the Third Degree, a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine of $300, or both.

According to the court affidavit, on Oct 21st, at approximately 4:37 p.m., the FPS received a call from an individual (later identified as the reporter) regarding a disturbance at a store in Fagaalu. Police officers responded to the call and, upon arrival at the scene, met a woman (later identified as the victim).
The victim alleged that the suspect, Christina Mauga, slapped her in the face outside of the store while she was carrying her three-year-old child in her arms.
The victim continued that the suspect had walked into the store and asked for money after she used their bathroom. She told the suspect not to stand in front of her store anymore.
However, the situation escalated into a verbal altercation between her and the suspect. The suspect then stood up and slapped her in the face, while she was carrying her 3-year-old son in her arms. This was captured on the store's CCTV cameras.
The victim also reported that the suspect had been yelling profanities outside of the store.
The suspect was later located and apprehended in front of another store, where she was transferred to the FPS for further processing.
Upon arrival at the station, the suspect was Mirandized.
She was later booked and transported to the Tafuna Correctional Facility to await the next available sitting of the District Court.
During the booking process, the officers detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from the suspect's breath and clothes.
At around 10:30 p.m., the victim forwarded two surveillance videos of the incident to the authorities. The first video showed the victim walking out of the store while carrying her 3-year-old son and approaching the suspect exiting the store. A conversation between the suspect and victim was seen taking place, and shortly after, the suspect was seen standing up and slapping the victim in the face.
The victim was asked if she needed medical attention, but she refused. Police took photos and documented the victim's injuries.
The defendant is identified as a 38-year-old U.S national.
