During yesterday morning’s news conference, the territory’s lead Epidemiologist at the DoH, Dr. Aifili John Tufa updated the territory on cases and testing carried out over the weekend explaining that 103 tests were conducted Sunday at LBJ, which carries it out daily, and two returned positive. And this is what LBJ has been averaging so far, about two cases per day, he said.
After going through the two individuals’ medical profiles, the LBJ physicians, determined that the individuals met the criteria for therapeutic treatment and treatment was conducted successfully and the two individuals were given directives to isolate at home, he explained.
Dr. Tufa, noted that a medical team is “calling everybody, every morning to check on their status, look at their symptoms and to see if they are needed to come back in to get the therapeutic treatment.”
He explained, “So we also urge anybody out there in the community, if you have any symptoms or believe you’ve been exposed to somebody who has tested positive — please come out to our testing sites, get your self tested and if you test positive, we have physicians there who will assess you, to see if you need to come in to get the therapeutic treatment.
“This is very important, we have a small window here to work with.
“If you have the symptoms don’t wait at home. Come in and get tested,” he said.
As of Monday morning a total of 10 positives had undergone therapeutic treatment. Additionally, there were no hospitalizations.
