Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — This is a special bulletin from the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security. The National Weather Service has issued the following Special Weather Statement:

The South Pacific Convergence Zone (SPCZ) over the islands is anticipated to bring inclement weather Saturday night through Tuesday. Strong northerly winds up to 40 knots or higher as well as flash flooding conditions are possible as several hybrid lows embedded within the SPCZ are expected. Also, northerly winds tend to double in speed along slopes, especially in the harbor area.

Possible impacts from these hazardous weather conditions will include loose items being blown away, electric poles and tree branches breaking off, flooding in roadways and low-lying areas as well as mudslides. Please be cautious and safe!
