Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In “Honoring All Who Served”, the ASG Veterans Affairs Office hosted late afternoon, Nov. 10th, the “Pre-Veterans Day Block Party” at the Veterans Memorial Monument in the Tafuna Industrial Park, with the celebration kicking off at 4p.m. and closing at 8p.m.

Department of Youth and Women’s Affairs (DYWA) announced on its Facebook page that the Pre-Veterans Day Block Party starts with a “Biker's Ride” to “honor those who served in the Armed Forces.”

Riders met at 3p.m. at Paradise Pizza Restaurant today. “You don’t need to be a Veteran to be a part of the motorcycle ride. All you need is a motorcycle. We invite all to the Bike Ride,” said DYWA.

Many in the private sector are closed today, along with the local financial institutions while StarKist Samoa — the territory’s largest employer — and a few major store-outlets remained open for business.

In honor of Veterans Day, Samoa News did not publish Veterans Day and the office was closed. We’ll return on Friday with lots of fun photos of this event.
