Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Office of the Governor- American Samoa Government advises the public that a document currently circulating on social media claiming that missile strikes have occurred in American Samoa is FALSE and was NOT issued by the Office of the Governor.

There have been NO missile strikes in American Samoa, and the memorandum being circulated is FAKE.

We strongly urge the public not to share, repost, or distribute this fabricated document. False information of this nature can create unnecessary fear, panic, and confusion within our community.

We also strongly urge the individual or individuals responsible for creating and circulating false government documents to STOP immediately. The unauthorized creation or misuse of official government names, seals, formatting, or communications to spread false emergency information is a serious matter.

The public is encouraged to rely only on official American Samoa Government communication channels and authorized government agencies for emergency announcements and other important public information.
If you receive information that appears questionable, please verify it through official sources before sharing.
