Republican Party of American Samoa holds successful Annual General Meeting

Republicans officially endorsed Uifa'atali Amata

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Republican Party of American Samoa (RPAS) gathered this past Wednesday for its Annual General Meeting, where members elected new offocers to serve for the next two years. In a show of strong unity and continuity, all elected officers are returning to their prior posts.

The newly re-elected leadership team includes:

- Taulapapa Will Sword, Chairman

- Levailoa Michael McDonald, Vice Chairman

- Dora Ah Sue, Secretary

- Tina Ioane, Treasurer

In addition, the RPAS held its caucus and unanimously endorsed veteran Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata Radewagen as the Party’s candidate for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives in the November 2026 election. Congresswoman Radewagen has long been a dedicated champion for American Samoa, and her continued leadership enjoys overwhelming support from the Party.

The Republican Party of American Samoa proudly reaffirms its core values of God, Family, Country, and America First principles — values fully shared with the national Republican Party and sister Republican organizations across the United States.

These core pillars include:

- Faith in God and the preservation of religious liberty

- Strong Families as the foundation of a healthy society

- Patriotism and Love of Country, including unwavering support for our military and veterans

- America First policies that prioritize American workers, secure borders, economic opportunity, and national sovereignty.

These principles are deeply aligned with Fa’asamoa — the Samoan way of life. In our culture, the aiga (extended family) stands at the center of all things, with profound respect for elders, communal responsibility, and shared values. The central role of the church and Christian faith in daily Samoan life mirrors our commitment to God. Loyalty to family, respect for authority, and a strong sense of collective identity and pride in our heritage naturally extend to love of country and the defense of our American Samoan identity within the United States. The RPAS believes these timeless Samoan values and Republican principles reinforce one another, providing the strongest foundation for prosperity, stability, and cultural preservation in American Samoa.

“Today’s meeting demonstrated the unity and strength of our Party,” said Chairman Taulapapa Will Sword. “With experienced leadership returning to their roles and our unanimous endorsement of Congresswoman Amata, we are well-positioned to advance policies rooted in faith, family, and America First values that honor and uplift our people and community.”

The Republican Party of American Samoa remains committed to working for all residents of the territory — protecting our unique cultural heritage, prioritizing God, our biblical relationship with Israel, and championing the rights of the unborn – while securing greater economic opportunity and a stronger future for our families and our islands.
