Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On May 4, 2025, a fight broke out at a nightclub in Tafuna involving six men who allegedly assaulted numerous men at the bar.

The six suspects were apprehended and charged as follows:

Kananafou Savea — Count 1: Public Peace Disturbance, a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of $500, or both. Savea’s bail was set at $300.

Siaosi Leaea, Ierome Epati, Tamahero Galu, Kiuga Wells — Count 1: Public Peace Disturbance, a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of $500, or both; and,

Count 2: Assault in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both.

Laea, Epati, and Galu’s bail were also set at $300; whereas Wells bail was set at $700.

Leuma Wells was charged with the additional charges of:

Count 3 & 4: Assault in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both.

His bail was at $500.

According to the court affidavit, on May 4th, at around 1:00 a.m., Savea, Galu, Epati, Leuma Wells, Kiuga Wells, and Leaea engaged in the beating of five individuals at a night club in Tafuna.

Authorities were able to identify each suspect after viewing video footage of the incident on social media posts and the nightclub’s surveillance cameras. Police were able to retrieve video footage through social media posts, including the surveillance footage from the nightclub.

The video footage showed the following:

Leuma Wells was observed in the footage striking one of the victims with a closed fist and kicking him on his upper body. Leuma then dragged another victim outside of the nightclub where he punched and kicked him countless times in the facial area and wherever he could strike. After beating up victim #2, Leuma assaulted another unidentified man, and when another man walked out, Leuma grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and punched him in the mouth.

Savea was observed in the video footage punching a man multiple times in the facial area and body. He then proceeded to punch and beat up whoever he could assault.

Epati was seen assaulting an individual in the blind spot of the camera angle. He then turned around and punched another man several times in the upper area of his body.

In addition, Galu was caught on camera pulling the hair of another man and punching him in the face multiple times. After assaulting the said victim, he walked out of Flames and struck another man whom Leuma was beating up.

Kiuga Wells was seen punching a man twice in the face before kicking him six times on the right side of his face. As the man was seeking cover inside the nightclub, Kiuga Wells grabbed a beer bottle and threw it at him.

Leaea was also seen assisting Galu in beating up a man.

According to the victims, everything happened in the blink of an eye and they weren't able to identify the suspects who had assaulted them.

Most of the suspects suffered from lacerations, bruises and minor scratches.

However, one of the victims sustained a deep cut on his right eye and nostril that required stitches; while another victim withdrew his complaint stating he forgave the suspects.
