Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On June 1, 2026, the Leone Police Substation (LPS) received a call from a concerned father requesting assistance regarding his 29-year-old son who was allegedly causing a disturbance at their home.

The suspect, Anthony Noa, was arrested and charged with:

Count 1: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment of not more than 15 days, a fine not to exceed $300, or both imprisonment and fine;

Count 2: Assault in the Third Degree (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment of not more than 15 days, a fine not to exceed $300, or both; and,

Count 3; Resisting Arrest, a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine not more than $1,000, or both.

The defendant was held without bail.

According to court documents, officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving Noa at a residence in the village of Asili.

The defendant's father reported that his son was causing a disturbance by yelling profanities and behaving aggressively inside the family home. The father told authorities that he had attempted to calm his son (defendant) down, but his efforts were unsuccessful.

Responding officers arrived at the residence and immediately heard shouting coming from inside the home. According to investigators, the defendant continued yelling while officers were speaking with the father outside.

Court records also revealed that the defendant directed profanities toward police officers and continued making disruptive statements while inside the residence. Officers reported that the defendant also verbally threatened his father during the incident.

While officers were interviewing the complainant/ father, they could reportedly hear the defendant shouting from inside the house. The complainant then escorted officers into the residence, where they located the defendant inside his bedroom.

According to police, the defendant was highly agitated and repeatedly refused commands to calm down. Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation and encouraged him to cooperate, but he allegedly continued yelling and refused to comply with instructions.

Authorities stated that when officers attempted to place him under arrest, the defendant resisted and attempted to pull away from police. During the struggle, officers reported that he continued making threats towards his father.

Police eventually gained control of the defendant, placed him in handcuffs, and escorted him from the residence and transported to the LPS for further investigation.

During an interview at the residence, the complainant told investigators that the incident was not isolated and that similar confrontations had occurred in the past. According to the father, disputes often arose whenever he asked his son to assist with household chores or responsibilities around the home.

The complainant stated that during previous arguments, the defendant would frequently insult him and use degrading language. He further told investigators that the defendant had repeatedly shown disrespect toward him and other members of the household.

The father informed police that he felt threatened by his son's behavior and feared that a physical confrontation could occur.

According to court documents, the defendant allegedly approached the complainant's bedroom during the incident, prompting concern for the complainant's safety.

Upon arrival at the police station, officers advised the defendant was Mirandized, to which he acknowledged understanding, and declined to provide a statement regarding the allegations or answer questions from investigators.

Court records further indicated that investigators were aware of previous incidents involving the defendant and had received information suggesting that he had a history of resisting arrest during encounters with law enforcement.

Following the investigation, the defendant was booked and later transported to the Tafuna Police Substation, where he was confined pending his initial appearance before the District Court.

The matter remains pending before the court.

The defendant is identified as an U.S National.
