Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a very brief statement over the weekend, Virginia-based StarKist Co., confirmed that the company’s president and chief executive officer, Andrew Choe  (seen in this Samoa News file photo) is visiting American Samoa from Aug. 21 to Aug. 25.

Choe is spending time with the StarKist Samoa leadership team and StarKist employees during the trip. In addition, Choe will meet with Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga and other ASG officials during his visit.

The corporate office tells Samoa News that Choe will not have time for a press conference during this visit.

Choe’s visit comes at a time when StarKist Samoa has a new plant manager, who has been on the job for just a few weeks.
