Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — American Samoa Government Treasurer Malemo Tausaga, addressing “Fellow Taxpayers” in a media release, dated March 26, 2024, has released the official schedule for tax refunds.

Malemo points out that “there has been a lot of speculation about the release of the next batch of tax refunds and we understand how frustration and stressful the delay can be.

“We apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

The Treasurer continues, “Our team was able to fix the setbacks we encountered in our process, and tax refunds will be release on the attached schedule.” The total amount of $9,485,882 is being released.

1       Release Date: today, Wednesday, Mar. 27, for those who filed on Jan. 30- Feb. 1.

A total of 1097 will be released — $938,824 in local funds, ACTC $970,211, EITC $2,725,042 for a total release of $4,634,177.

2       Release Date: Mar. 28, for those who filed Feb. 1- 3rd.

A total of 1252 will be released — $930,718 in local funds, ACTC $1,001,740, EITC $2,919,247 for a total release of $4,851,705

According to Malemo, if you did not receive your refund in the mail or pick it up with the Disbursing Office, to contact the Tax Office for assistance: 633-4155.
