Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On October 7, 2025, a frantic victim called the Tafuna Police Substation (TPS) to report that her brother had allegedly assaulted her.

Akapo Seuseu was later charged with:

Count 1: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine not to exceed $300., or both imprisonment and fine; and,

Count 2: Assault in the Third Degree (DV), a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine not to exceed $1,000., or both.

The defendant's bail was set at $2,000.

Court records indicate that on Oct. 7th, at approximately 7:07 p.m., a woman called the TPS to report that her brother had assaulted her at their mother's residence in Vaitogi.

A police unit was dispatched to the call, and upon arrival at the scene, they met with the reporter, who was later identified as the victim.

The victim briefed the officers on the incident, explaining that her brother, Akapo Seuseu (later identified as the suspect), had arrived home around 6:50pm, sat down at the dining table and ate dinner. She said she teased him by saying, “You just come and eat, and our mother never ate.” But Akapo got mad, and came up to her, grabbed her chin, and told her not to do that in their house.

Moreover, when she turned her back to the suspect, he hit her face with his fist a few times, resulting in her sustaining minor injuries on her face and her lower lip. Akapo then fled the scene.

The victim was asked if she needed medical treatment, but she refused and stated that she was fine. She requested that the suspect be arrested for what he did to her.

The affidavit does not state whether the suspect was apprehended and confined.

The defendant is identified as a 22-year-old U.S national.
