Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The 2021 Annual Thanksgiving Farm Fair, under the theme “Redefining Agriculture” opens tomorrow morning, Nov. 18th, and runs through Nov. 20th at Su’igaula o le Atuvasa Beach Park at Utulei.

In a Nov. 15th invitation, Agriculture director, Solialealofiotagaloa I.T Mutini invited cabinet members to the annual farm fair, which he said is hosted by his department and local farmers.

In addition, farmers will display locally grown crops, produce, local cuisine, livestock, house plants, seafood and an evening of cultural performances.

The farm fair program for tomorrow’s opening, starts at 7a.m. with a “wave” by DOA and farmers in Utulei, followed at 8:30a.m. with the official opening ceremony by DOA deputy director Taomaga Sagapolutele, delivering welcoming remarks.

Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga is scheduled to deliver special remarks at the opening ceremony.

DOA and the Governor’s Office invite the community to come out and see the produce provided by local farmers, as American Samoa continues to push for food security in American Samoa.

Two farmers told Samoa News that this is one of the government events that they all look forward to every year, to not only showcase their products, but also to earn additional revenue with the sale of “our locally grown agriculture produce”.
