Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The third cruise ship for November, “Seven Seas Mariner” with just over 1,200 passengers and crew, calls into the Port of Pago Pago around 8a.m. today, arriving from Bora Bora, French Polynesia, for a one-day visit, departing around 6p.m. for Apia, Samoa.

According to the American Samoa Visitors Bureau, the cruise ship is on a 66-day cruise which started from Miami, Florida and ends in Sydney, Australia.

“Tourism is everyone’s business,” declares the ASVB, which once again reminds all drivers — commercial bus, taxi  and tours - for men to wear clean “elei” or Polynesian print shirts and lavalava/ slacks, and for women to wear elei or Polynesian print puletasi or tops when soliciting tour services for visitors off the ship.

The ASVB notes that the cruise ship market vendors will be set up at the Fagatogo malae. while the Fagatogo Marketplace will feature and showcase handcrafted jewelry, island printed fabric, clothing, Samoan local delights, and fresh produce.

Senior citizens with the Territorial Administration on Aging (TAOA) will also display and showcase their handmade jewelry and fashions, designed materials, and lavalavas.

According to the Visitors Bureau schedule, there are only two cruise ships calling into Pago Pago next month: the "Regatta” on Dec. 1st and the “Amsterdam” on Dec. 8th.
