THS JROTC claims Multiple School Unit Commander's Shield
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Tafuna High School's (THS) Army Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) program has secured a resounding victory by claiming the prestigious American Samoa Multiple School Unit Commander's Shield. This esteemed accolade recognizes THS JROTC as the top JROTC program in American Samoa, celebrating their remarkable achievements throughout the year in JROTC competitions.
Presented by the Director of Army Instructions, MAJ (R) Rodney Malauulu, the Commander's Shield was proudly awarded to the THS JROTC program on May 11th at a special ceremony held at Tafuna High School.
Throughout the year, THS JROTC has demonstrated their prowess and expertise in various competitions. Notable achievements include securing 2nd place in the Cadet Challenge, with their very own Cadet Victory Mase receiving the prestigious title of top Female Athlete. The program's excellence continued in the Air Rifle competition, where they claimed 1st place, with another THS cadet Joymer Caloyloy awarded the coveted Top Gun (Shooter) title.
In the Drill Competition, THS JROTC showcased their precision and discipline by securing 1st place in all D&C (Drill and Ceremony) categories. The Color Guard led by c/CSM Charles Tauiliili, Inspection led by c/MAJ Kelevi Voseci, Regulation led by c/COL Tauva Launiu, and lastly the Exhibition team led by c/CSM Lafaele Leulu. All teams excelled in their respective categories, leaving an indelible mark of excellence.
