Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Two men have been charged in a sex case. Enosa Lotonu’u is held on bail of $20,000 and the co-defendant in this case Sam Satini’s bail is $5,000.

The victims in this case are 15 and 16 year old cousins and live in the same house.

The defendants appeared virtually in the District Court last Friday.

According to the government case police received a call of an alleged rape in Petesa on Feb. 3, 2023.

The complainant in this case, a 15-year old high school student informed police that she met Enosa on Facebook and planned to meet in person on Jan 20, 2023.

The 15-year old said she was contacted by Enosa via cell phone and they met that night at the shipping container near her home.

The first victim made out with Enosa who is 20 years old, while Satini 27 hung out with the 16-year old girl.

It’s alleged the two girls continued to meet with the two defendants secretly and on Feb, 2 2023, Lotonu’u and the 15-year old girl went to his house where the defendant had sex with her.

Lotonuu then walked the 15-year old girl home.

Lotonuu told police he had consensual sex with the 15-year old girl.

Satini on the other hand informed police he and the 16-year old girl did not have sex, rather they kissed and that the 16-year old girl refused to have sex with him.

The two men according to court documents are both from Samoa.

The government’s case claims the Department of Human Social Services was requested by the police for assistance regarding two minor victims.

 “Upon CPS arrival they conducted assessment with both victims and their parents present. They were instructed to meet them at the DHSS main office in Utulei the next morning for further assessment. The Undersigned requested the victims get checked at the LBJ Hospital” but was told that a doctor would not be available until Wednesday (February 3, 2023).

Enosa is faced with charges of rape; deviate sexual assault; sexual abuse first degree; endangering welfare of a child and assault third degree. Satini is charged with sexual abuse first degree; endangering the welfare of a child and assault third degree.
