Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The following information from the Attorney General’s Office about Price Gouging in the Territory was sent to Samoa News this week after we published our Price Gouging story on Monday, Feb. 28th.

In our story, the Attorney General’s Office was named the point of contact for reporting alleged price gouging. The office is currently closed due to Code Red, but notes that their current policy about reporting price gouging calls for it be reported to the Department of Public Safety by emailing tafunasubstation@gmail.com or calling 699-1911/ 633-1111.

It further notes that “if possible, take a picture of the item and the price if listed or keep your receipt(s).”

It also advises to “let DPS handle it” — don’t get into a confrontation with the business owner.
