Yet another PPD after man heard yelling profanities

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On September 15 2024, an investigation disclosed a domestic disturbance involving a husband and his wife at their home.

The suspect was arrested and charged with Count 1: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to fifteen days, a fine of $300, or both.

There was no bail stated in the affidavit for the defendant.

According to the affidavit, an investigation disclosed that on September 15th, at approximately 11:30 a.m, Nglam Fatuleai was disturbing the peace at his residence. It was reported that the suspect was yelling profanities in Samoan multiple times at his wife (later identified as the victim).

According to the victim, “the suspect was yelling profanities and messing up the house by throwing items around and punching the walls.”

Moreover, she explained that the suspect also threatened that he was going to kill her. He then threw a cup of water at her and it hit her on her right side back shoulder and he also chased her outside the house.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. However, the authorities eventually caught up to him where he was subdued and handcuffed.

During the arrest, the suspect resisted and was yelling, which alarmed the nearby neighbors.

The suspect was apprehended, booked and confined at the Tafuna Correctional Facility to await the next available sitting of the District Court.

The defendant is identified as a 33 year-old U.S National.
