Lt Governor Lemanu Peleti Mauga departed Monday evening on Hawaiian Air and has appointed Attorney General Talauega Eleasalo Ale as Acting Governor in his absence. Lemanu issued a general memorandum prior to departure.

According to the Governor’s Chief of Staff Fiu Johnny Saelua, Lt Governor Lemanu, who had been serving as Acting Governor will be in Hawai’i to meet with Governor Lolo Matalasi Moliga and attend to his own medical check up, which Lemanu has been postponing for a while.

According to the memo, in accordance with ASCA section 4.0106 AG Talauegfa is appointed Acting Governor effective upon the Lt. Governor’s departure April 28, 2014 and the appointment shall be terminated upon the Governor’s return, or the Lt Governor’s return to the territory.

Lemanu urged all directors and agency heads to extend to Talauega their full support and cooperation.
