Nat'l Weather Service tracking tropical disturbance

At 3:30 this morning (Friday, Dec. 26, 2014) Tropical Disturbance 05f was centered about 35 miles north of Swains, or about 260 miles north of Ttutuila and was nearly stationary.

The previous forecast tracked 05f to head toward the Samoan islands bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms to dampen Tutuila and Manu’a during this afternoon into Saturday.

The rainfall amounts will reach up to 3 to 6 inches and the risk for flash flooding is high as rainy conditions move across the area.  

Continue to monitor local media for new forecast updates and make sure the small streams and drainage outlets are kept free of debris.
