Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — “We are honored to have on our team a fantastic group of young people to help support our mission and work in the community this summer,” the Christopher James Foeoletini Ledoux Foundation said and noted that it’s grateful to the Human Resources Department’s Summer Youth Employment Program “for their continuous efforts in maintaining this program and placing the best group of young people with us. We have been working on innovative ways to design programs to help our communities tackle substance use and abuse.”

The Foundation also announced launching at the same time a 6-week peer-to-peer support training program. This program seeks to build on the strengths, knowledge, and experience that peers can offer.  Program goals for peer support roles are to advocate for people in recovery, share resources and build skills, build community and relationships, lead recovery groups, mentor, and set goals for people in recovery.
