NOMINATION PROCESS AND DEADLINE

To support a smooth nomination process, the Election Office has set a clear deadline for submitting nomination petitions: September 1, 2026, at 4:30 PM. All prospective candidates must prepare their nomination materials, which may include forms and supporting documentation, and submit them before this deadline. Late submissions will not be considered. Once the nomination period closes, the Election Office will thoroughly review all submitted materials to ensure each candidate meets the eligibility requirements. After this review, the Election Office will publish an official list of candidates, giving voters a complete view of their choices as they prepare for the elections.

VOTER REGISTRATION OPEN

Alongside candidate nominations, the Election Office is reminding the public that voter registration is currently open in anticipation of the upcoming midterm election. Individuals who have not yet registered to vote are strongly encouraged to take action as soon as possible. To register, individuals must visit the Election Office in person, where staff will guide them through the registration process. To complete their registration, individuals must present several key documents. These documents include:

- A government-issued birth certificate or a passport to confirm identity and citizenship
- A Social Security card to verify their identity
- A valid photo identification, which can include a driver’s license or state-issued ID
