Funkfit American Samoa claims a First at the 11th Annual Toa Games — in the Scaled Division

APIA, SAMOA — Funkfit American Samoa celebrated a historic achievement after claiming first place in the Scaled Division at the 11th Annual Toa Games, a CrossFit-inspired competition hosted by CrossFit Fatu Toa in Apia, Samoa.

Competing against 12 teams, Funkfit delivered a strong and consistent performance throughout the competition to secure a top spot.

The winning team was led by Team Captain Kennedy Nofoagatotoa, alongside teammates Jarret Sunia, Olivia Hogarth, and Alzy Mailei. Together, the four athletes demonstrated strength, endurance, teamwork and determination across the competition’s challenging events.

The victory marks a monumental moment for Funkfit American Samoa, representing the gym’s first Toa Games win in any division.

The team extended special acknowledgement to Coach Claude Young of Funkfit and Walterlee Imo of CrossFit Apia for their leadership, coaching and continued commitment to preparing the athletes leading up to the Toa Games.

Funkfit also thanked their families, friends and the wider community for the tremendous love, encouragement and support they received throughout their journey.
