Samoa News’ Pre-Season Promos for all the local high school football teams for the 2015-16 ASHSAA Football Season – heads to the jungle to feature the Leone Lions Football Program, which is under the direction of Head Coach Arona Samoa.

Leone High School's football team this year is not a team to take lightly, as Samoa News recorded the same group of players that took Leone to an undefeated Championship title in the Junior Varsity Division (JV) back in the 2013-14 ASHSAA season – are now Juniors and Seniors, and they are looking to repeat that history, this season.

Samoa News spoke to Leone Lions Head Coach Arona Samoa, who said,"Our goal this year is to try and make our way back to playing the championship game — and hopefully bring the championship title back to the Home of the Mighty Lions."

He added, "I think every year we're trying to get to that championship game, and I think that goes for all the other high schools – but our focus is making it to the final game of the season, and we'll see how it goes from there. I'm confident in my boys."

According to Samoa, the Lions Football Program has been together for about "three months now – since then, we've been practicing from 8a.m. to noon". He mentioned that Leone's Varsity squad will bring over 30 plus players in their division alone, while the Lions JV roster already has 40 plus active student athletes that will for sure appear on the field this season.

The Lions Head Coach told Samoa News that there are no changes to the Lions Football Program this year compared to previous seasons. "We just try to have the kids come out as much as we can, and put them at the right position that they can play. But as to changes, we haven't made any yet."

Samoa closed off with a big fa'afetai tele lava to all the Leone Lion supporters out there. "I would like to thank all the parents of my players for letting them come to practice everyday and for supporting us so far, I know our 50th Anniversary is coming up and that is another reason why we strive to prepare our team to be the best this year."

He concluded, "I would also like to thank our principal Dorian Salave'a, our staff and faculty here at Leone High School. A special thanks goes out to my coaching staff and their families for all their support, none of this would've been possible if it wasn't for their assistance.
