Public warned not to eat Jack & the Green Alfalfa Sprouts until further notice

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are currently investigating an outbreak of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli) illnesses that are linked to alfalfa sprouts produced by Jack & the Green Sprouts, Inc, that is also seen on island. The local Department of Health is saying they have yet to get official word from CDC on the recalled sprouts. According to CDC report provided to Samoa News, nine people in the US have been infected during the outbreak and two have been hospitalized.
