“Fiji” Bluesky concert in Samoa

Legendary artist George "FIJI" Veikoso performed with other Polynesian artists — his "usos" — in celebration of Bluesky 4G Plus that was launched last week in Samoa. FIJI and other artists brought the house down and proved to sound just as good as he does on his albums. Launches 4G Plus service

Last week Friday night in front of the Government building in Apia, Samoa was where families, friends and fans gathered to celebrate the Bluesky 4G Plus launch, which hosted a free concert with the legendary George “FIJI” Veikoso.

“We are so happy we got to host this concert because the 4G plus goes beyond from anywhere you are on the island. So the people of Samoa deserve a free concert from our best Polynesian artists in celebration of this new network,” said an official of Bluesky Samoa.

George Veikoso, known as “FIJI” — is a classic reggae, hip hop, R&B and jazz Fijian vocalist, songwriter and music producer. He sang some of his all time great songs from his album Born & Raised such as Chant of the Island, Sosefina, and a Samoan song that brought the crowd to cheers, called “Le Taualaga o Solomona”.

Performing with Fiji were other Polynesian artists, Drew Deezy, Laga Savea, Kiwini, Lapi Mariner, Ben Vai and the Brownhill band.

Samoa News caught up with Fiji after the concert, who said, “This would not have been possible without my “usos” here. We are all from different islands but we work together as a family to perform and represent our people.”

Locals from American Samoa who flew to Apia just to watch the Fiji Concert were very happy to have been there. “When I found out Fiji was going to perform in Apia, I just paid my ticket and now here for the weekend only. He and the other artists sure brought the house down. It was worth the trip,” said Tanielu of Ili’ili.

On Saturday, March 25 Bluesky American Samoa will also be hosting a free concert in the Territory — bringing well-known artist Spawnbreezie to perform live and also showcasing a laser lights show at the Fagatogo Malae.

Spawnbreezie said in a Samoa News interview, “I am extremely excited and feel blessed to have the opportunity to share my music with our people. Cheehoooo!”

Many fans of Spawnbreezie are looking forward to the concert and have sent non-stop texts to Bluesky to win VIP Meet and Greet with Spawnbreezie opportunities.
