Police took to social media a day after she went missing to seek the public's assistance in locating her after her mother reported it to the police trying to find her missing daughter.
"Samoa Police, Prisons and Corrections Services appeals to the public for assistance in locating Jolivette Sofara also known as Luneta Sofara, female, 12 years of age, from the village of Fagalii-tai," police posted.
Jolivette has been missing from her home since, Monday, Dec. 4, 2023, between 6:00pm to 6:30pm according to her mother.
"If anyone has information regarding Jolivette’s where about or knows where she is, please contact a nearby Police Station or call us on phone number: 22222."
Meanwhile, Samoa Observer is reporting that this is not the first time this young girl went missing as she also allegedly ran away from her household in Fagalii-Tai earlier this year according to a family in Magiagi who found her on the side of the road around 3am walking alone.
The 12-year-old admitted to the family who found her that she was running away to go and live with her other family in Vailele as her relatives in Fagalii-Tai were beating her up.
The family took her in for one night to sleep as it was late and dropped her off to her family in Vailele the day after.
A relative told the family who took her in for a night that she is always leaving her home and trying to run away whenever she gets beaten up by any of her family members.
