Cool Stuff World Cup and HSBC 7s imagery on display

Markowitz with photo of 7s star, Ricardo Duarte

Cape Town, SOUTH AFRICA — Samoa News Senior Staff Photojournalist (and "Cool Stuff" columnist) Barry Markowitz, was pleased to learn some of his World Cup and HSBC 7s imagery will be prominently displayed at Orm's Pro Photo Warehouse camera shop in Cape Town, South Africa. The photo of local Cape Town Springbok 7s star, Ricardo Duarte, will be displayed in a large poster print, with this framed edition presented to Ricardo on his return from this weekend's London 7s.

Barry shared his appreciation for Orm’s, which is like family… they take the time to nurture and educate.  “They provide backup for my Nikon gear, sell and are also knowledgeable about professional video gear, action cams, gimbles, Insta 360 cameras, DJI Drones, mounts, stabilizers, supports, tripods, memory cards, cases; and they provide amazing gourmet Terbodore Coffee gratis (all you can drink) while you are visiting.”

A friendly rivalry has developed every time Manu Samoa takes on Orm’s staff’s beloved Springboks. Manu Samoa has been fortunate to mostly defeat the Boks, with a challenge for both teams as they are in an equal position striving to qualify for the upcoming 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

Barry set aside his Manu Samoa bias telling Orm’s Pro Broadcast Sales Manager, Jakkie Le Roux, “Both teams deserve to participate in the upcoming Olympics. They both have a great winning tradition and dedicated fans worldwide.  At the Samoa News, we respect the dedication and achievements of all nation's athletes.  In these times of war and epidemics, international sports builds bridges and helps heal our recent suffering.”
