whale season
Join the NOAA National Marine Sanctuary on July 18 at the Tauese P.F. Sunia Ocean Center to celebrate the whale migration from Antarctica to our warm waters. Expect fun activities for the whole family, and a special tour of Fetūlagi, an inflatable humpback whale. [National Geographic photo]
Whale season starts in July and can last as late as December, with September and October being its peak months. These phenomenal mammals migrate north to warmer waters once a year to breed. They have already been spotted in the Manu'a islands, Fagaloa Bay, and Vatia Bay. [ASVB photo]
