Manu Samoa lost two of their pool matches in the first day of the International Rugby Board’s sevens tournament now being played at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas on Friday.

The Samoans lost to Fiji, 36-0 their first match and New Zealand’s All Blacks defeated Manu Samoa 15-5 in their last match of the first day.

Fiji ran in six tries to blank Manu Samoa, while the All Blacks scored three touchdowns to one.    The Fijians and New Zealand will play on Saturday to determine the winner of their pool.  Two top teams from each pool will advance to the main tournament Cup quarterfinals on Saturday.

Fiji, New Zealand, Samoa and Wales are in pool A the toughest pool of the competition. The All Blacks downed Wales 40-7 in the second game of the competition.  The three day tournament is divided into four pools.  England, Kenya, Canada and Argentina are in pool B, South Africa, USA, Portugal and Japan make up pool C while Scotland, Australia, Japan, and Brazil round out pool C.
