American Samoa has its own underwater volcano: Vailulu'u located off the eastern coast of Ta'u, Manu'a. Vailulu'u is considered to be the newest island of the Samoan Archipelago and the Manu'a island chain. Located between Motu O Manu (Rose Atoll) and Ta'u Island scientists predict that the underwater volcano is growing at a phenomenal rate and is predicted to rise above sea level soon.
