Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — In a general memorandum issued by Governor Lemanu P.S. Mauga, flags in American Samoa are flying at half- staff today and tomorrow as a show of respect and to honor High Talking Chief Fuga Tolani Teleso who passed away recently.

The governor praised the late HTC as a man who got things done. “The impact of his work was felt in Pago Pago, American Samoa and beyond. HTC Fuga made it possible for many of us to tee our first ball on a course or take our first step on a stadium field. In addition to his contribution to physical fitness, his tireless work made possible the countless challenges and victories Samoans experienced at these facilities.  We will long recount the stories to friends and family.

“As we reflect on the life of HTC Fuga, let us remember his contributions to our Territory.  Let us also take a moment to be grateful for all the great leaders who have helped preserve and advance democracy.”
