Two ASCC alums celebrate attaining their Masters degrees

Dona Domi Maifala and Leiema Suitumua Sachiko Hunt

USA — Dona Domi Maifala and Leiema Suitumua Sachiko Hunt will be graduating with Masters Degrees before the end of the Spring Term — Dona from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona and Leiema from Brigham Young University — Provo.

“We are really grateful for our family, friends, our educators, and many others who have supported us on our journey. We express our love for our community. We are pursuing our professional and education endeavors with AMERICAN SAMOA in mind.

“We look forward to gaining more valuable experience and then eventually joining the amazing group of individuals who did what we are doing now, people like William Spitzenberg, Dr. Robin Faumuina Vasai, Dr. Aifili John Tufa, Dr. Christina and Valentina Pola — we cannot name everyone but those are just a few names.”

Leiema Suitumua Sachiko Hunt earned her MPH (Masters of Public Health) from Brigham Young University— Provo, Utah. She graduated from ASCC in 2009 and worked for the Department of Health for nearly 5 years after serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints from the Pago Samoa Stake. She graduated as co-valedictorian of Fagaitua High School in 2007. [courtesy photo]
 


Dona Domi Maifala earned his MPA (Masters of Public Administration) from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. He graduated from ASCC in 2012 and served a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from the Pago Samoa Stake. Don was a teacher at his alma mater Samoana High School for two years. He taught Freshman English his first year with a special section of College Prep and SAT prep for Juniors and Seniors. He also taught Sophomore English during his second year with a special section of College Prep and SAT prep for juniors and seniors. [courtesy photo]
