Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Pala Lagoon amphitheater is being built — despite opposition to the project by some members of the public — who didn’t get a chance to voice their opposition as no hearing was held during a PNRS board or Zoning board meeting. Further, is there a Land Use Permit for the construction work?

Of interest, the building crew is using the sole tree in this particular area for ‘shade’ while they work. Samoa News understands that the tree will be removed at the completion of the project.

It’s unknown exactly why the amphitheater is being built — who it’s suppose to serve? It is being built with federal grant funds.
