Agricultural Census takers are visiting selected farm households
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The Agricultural Census for 2023 is underway in American Samoa and enumerators are now visiting selected farmers and households for the survey.
For the purposes of the Agricultural Census, a farm is defined as a household producing agricultural products for sale and/ or for family consumption.
Federal and local governments, agri businesses, organizations and many more use Agricultural Census data to support funding research and programs to improve farming techniques and equipment, build infrastructure for high-speed internet, provide effective production and distribution systems, and provide natural disaster preparation, response, and recovery assistance.
The information shared will help inform decisions shaping American Samoa’s agricultural future for years to come.
