Alleged domestic violence assault reported

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On August 19, 2024, a male individual contacted the Tafuna Police Substation (TPS) to report that his girlfriend allegedly assaulted him.

She was arrested and charged with:

Count 1: Assault in the Third Degree (DV), a class A misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to one year, a fine of $1,000, or both; and,

Count 2: Private Peace Disturbance (DV), a class C misdemeanor punishable for up to fifteen days, a fine of $300, or both.

The defendant’s bail was set at $1,000.

According to the affidavit, on August 19th, at around 7:35 p.m., a male individual (later identified as the victim) contacted the TPS to report his girlfriend had assaulted him in his residence.

Police officers proceeded to the call and upon arrival at the scene, the officers met up with the victim.

The victim verbally stated that when he and his girlfriend, Siniva Bryce (defendant) returned home from shopping, he asked her why she was so disrespectful. He said that the defendant started yelling profanities at him, while she grabbed something from the table. He explained that he tried to stop the defendant but she hit her head against the wall.

As a result, she then punched his left eye with a closed fist. Moreover, the defendant grabbed a plate from the kitchen and threw it at him and she also knocked the stove over and spilled their dinner.

The defendant was Mirandized and refused to make any statements.

The defendant is identified as a 29-year-old U.S National.
