Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Congresswoman Aumua Amata has congratulated Governor-elect Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga and Lieutenant Governor-elect Talauega Eleasalo Va'alele Ale, and all those elected or re-elected to serve in the Fono.

“Congratulations to everyone who shares responsibility to our people through elected office,” said Aumua Amata. “I look forward to working with Governor-elect Lemanu Palepoi Mauga and Lieutenant Governor-elect Talauega Eleasalo Ale, and the Department heads they select, Members of the Fono, and the Speaker and Senate President as elected by the Fono.”

“I’m optimistic about what all of us can accomplish together,” she said. “I know the incoming office holders bring with them good experience, and also bring change. I’m enthusiastic to see progress take place with potential new ideas, and build on what we already have as a Territory, which starts with being true to our way. I look forward to identifying shared priorities and taking those with me in conversation wherever I go in Washington.

“Congratulations to Governor Lolo Letalu Matalasi Moliga on his terms of service, and all the achievements of that time,” she continued. “I also want to say a special thank you to everyone who was willing to serve. That’s commendable public service in itself, and you put in honorable hard work. Many good ideas were expressed, and it is all part of a healthy democratic process.

“May God bless the efforts of the new term ahead for all these offices so that our people see results,” she concluded.
