Grandson fights with man allegedly disturbing his grandmother

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — On December 26, 2024, a male individual contacted the Fagatogo Police Station (FPS) regarding two males fighting in front of a store in Pago Pago.

One of the individuals was later arrested and charged with Count 1: Public Peace Disturbance, a class B misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for up to six months, a fine of $500, or both.

There was no set bail for the defendant.

According to the court affidavit, on Dec. 26th, a male contacted the FPS and reported people fighting in front of a store in the village of Pago Pago. The reporter stated that the suspect, AJ Talauega, was out of control and had punched the store’s window.

The officers proceeded to the location and upon arrival, they observed about 12 individuals in front of the store. While they exited the police unit, the suspect fled the scene. Police officers pursued the suspect on foot and were able to take him down and apprehend him.

The suspect was escorted to the police unit and later transported to the FPS for booking process.

According to the male who fought with the suspect, Talauega was drunk and out of control. He alleged that the suspect was screaming and making loud, unreasonable noises in front of his grandma’s house. He approached Talauega and they engaged in a heated argument which led to a physical fight.

The defendant is identified as a 20-year-old U.S National.
