Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Hawaiian Airlines flight last night, Thursday, is now re-scheduled to depart Pago Pago for Honolulu at 1:30p.m today, according to an airline advisory issued early this morning. Ticket counter check in opens from 9a.m. to 1p.m with security checkpoint to open from 10a.m to 1p.m.

The advisory also says that airline staff is working on connecting flights for passengers traveling beyond Honolulu. And the airline offered its apologies for the delay.

A Samoa News reporter, booked to travel last night, says the flight from Honolulu didn’t arrived until late, around midnight, and travelers weren’t informed until later about the long delay of departure.

“We had to troubleshoot a possible mechanical item with the aircraft in Honolulu which led to a delayed departure and arrival in Pago Pago,” Hawaiian Airlines spokesperson, Alex DaSilva said this morning responding to Samoa News email questions.

DaSilva said he’s provide additional information later today on other Samoa News questions regarding this flight.

Samoa News will update this story online when new information becomes available and more details in Monday’s edition.
