Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The cardiology team from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is on island conducting clinics for children with heart disease.

According to the Health Department, the OSHU medical team arrived last Thursday night and began the clinics on Feb. 02 that will run through Thursday, Feb. 09, this week.

“Children with heart disease will receive a call for an appointment to see these specialists,” said DoH.

The OHSU team was last on island in late September of last year and the visit was delayed for about 3-years due to the outbreak of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, DoH in partnership with LBJ Medical Center and the Lions Club of Pago Pago, will be hosting a team of children's eye doctors who will be on island early this month to conduct screening at selected schools for children who may have vision impairment.

For questions call DoH Command Center at 219 or 633-4008.
