Latest round of stimulus checks for American Samoa are in the mail
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The release of the fifth round of Economic Impact Payments (EIP), or stimulus checks — as part of the federal Coronavirus Aid Relief & Economic Security (CARES) Act, will be in the mail tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 31st.
In a brief statement yesterday, ASG Treasurer Ueligitone Tonumaipe’a said that all eligible recipients who filed taxes between Aug. 20th and Sept. 30th should expect their stimulus checks in the mail on Oct. 31st, Saturday, if a valid mailing address is included in their filings.
For those without a mailing address, checks will be available for pick up at the Treasury’s Disbursing Office on the first floor of the A.P. Lutali Executive Office Building in Utulei next week Monday, Nov. 2nd.
According to Tonumaipe’a, a total of $965,000 will be released to 714 eligible recipients.
