Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The U.S. Social Security Administration yesterday announced the most popular baby names in American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands for 2021.

According to the list, Ethan is the most popular name for boys followed by Caleb, Aiden, Anthony and Elijah. For girls, the most popular name is Isla, followed by Olivia; Mia and Stella. SSA provided only four top names for girls.

SSA announced last week that Olivia for girls and Liam for boys — are America’s most popular baby names in 2021. Liam has been the top choice for new parents for five years in a row, and Olivia has topped the list for three years.

“Once again, during this unprecedented time, parents chose to stick with familiar names,” according to the federal agency (www.ssa.gov).
