Two more directors — DPW & DOE — confirmed by the senate
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — Faleosina Voigt and Talauega Dr. Samasoni Asaeli were both confirmed by the Senate yesterday morning. Voigt was approved by a vote of 16-2 while Talauega was approved by a vote of 17-1.
Voigt is now clear to serve as the Director of the Department of Public Works for her third consecutive term after she was confirmed by the Senate yesterday. She was confirmed by the House of Representatives last Friday during a reconsideration vote.
Before Senators approved Voigt, she appeared before the Senate Public Works Committee for her confirmation hearing where senators praised her for her service to the government and the people of American Samoa.
Talauega on the other hand appeared before the Senate Education Committee yesterday morning for her confirmation hearing.

In the House of Representatives, Gov. Lemanu Peleti Mauga sent the appointment of Talauega Dr. Samasoni Asaeli as director of the Department of Education; Chris King as director of Port Administration; Motusa Tuileana Nua as director of the Department of Pubic Health; Ti’alemasunu Dr. Mikaele Etuale as Chief Procurement Officer and Dr. Salote Aoelua Fanene as director of the Department of Youth and Women’s Affairs.
