Water flooding road near Hope House persists — DPW keeps after it
Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — A maintenance crew from the Department of Public Works seen last Wednesday with the vacuum-truck working on draining the swamp water on the road next to Hope House, in front of the cemetery in the Fatuoaiga area.
Tualauta Rep. Larry Sanitoa sought DPW’s help in draining this swamp water, which has been there for several weeks and continues to rise every time there is rain, attracting lots of frogs — who Samoa News should point out aren’t practicing social distancing protocol during the evening hours.
Last Thursday, Sanitoa sent a thank you message to DPW for their help, and requested the crew’s help in cleaning the drainage area as the vacuum truck was down.
Water started to build up again last Friday morning, due to rain overnight.
Meanwhile, Sanitoa requested DPW’s help with another stagnant-water drainage problem on a road at Petesa.
