Woman accused of delivering meth to TCF sentenced in separate case

Pago Pago, AMERICAN SAMOA — The woman accused of trying to deliver a package containing a huge quantity of methamphetamine to the Territorial Correctional Facility (TCF) earlier this year in August was sentenced by District Court Judge Fiti Sunia to 30 days imprisonment on a separate case.

Ienisei Mata’utia, who has two separate felony cases pending in High Court, was convicted in District Court of third degree assault and property damage.

According to court documents, on June 26, 2017 Mata’utia entered the home of the victim and damaged the walls of the house. She also assaulted another person inside the house.

The case involving her alleged role in the attempted smuggling of meth into the TCF is one of the two cases against her, pending in High Court.
