GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES LEMANU MAUGA AND TALAUEGA ALE BEGIN ROLLING-OUT PLATFORM

Matu’u, AS — Press Release – The gubernatorial team of Lemanu Palepoi Sialega Mauga and Talauega Eleasalo Va’alele Ale has issued the following statement.

“This week, we are officially rolling-out our campaign platform by individual subject matter.

We will share with you our vision and what we hope to do. Then we want to have a real conversation with you on what you want to see improved in the next administration. We alone don’t have all the answers to our problems. There are many of you who have the experience and passion about things we all care about, and we want you to have a chance to share your ideas with us. So, over the next few months, we will be rolling-out our platform one subject at a time so we can focus on each.

Starting with Health Care, we have organized it under three top themes: (1) Health Care Workforce Development, (2) Medical Infrastructure, and (3) Medical System Innovation.

We consider Health Care as our number one priority. Health Care affects every single one of us — from the moment we are born to the moment we die. If we are not healthy, we cannot learn, we cannot work – our families, education and our economy will be negatively impacted when we are afflicted with medical issues and the costs. We must and we can do better in our health area.

One of the issues we must address is health care services for people with cancer. Cancer has become so prevalent in our community and we don’t have the services on island to give our people options for cancer treatment.

The Coronavirus has changed the way we conduct our campaign. With social distancing and restrictions on large gatherings, we must adjust the way we reach out to everyone. So, we are presenting our Platform in different media outlets to inform our people on what we stand for.

The Platform you will see in the newspapers or on social media over the next few months is only a small part of the Lemanu and Talauega platform. Due to space and cost, we can only publish parts of our platform. So, we invite you to please reach out to us through Facebook or our website to learn more about our platform.

Faafetai tele for your time. We look forward to your support and vote on November 3. Soifua.”
