Phase One of Samoa street name and address project going online
Apia, SAMOA — Negotiations are currently underway to have the Phase One of the street and residential address naming project available online via platforms such as Google Map for ease of navigation.
This was confirmed by the Minister of Works, Transport and Infrastructure Olo Fiti Va'ai who also revealed that the Phase One of the project that began under the former Administration was completed last year.
Responding to queries from this newspaper, Olo said the availability of the street and residential address online will be convenient for members of the public.
"This allows the public to have access and get a feel of how this system helps with their traveling, directing a taxi to your house and much more, as well as for relevant response units, such as the fire services, ambulance, police and others to assist with locating a place," said Olo.
"It is our hope that the availability of Phase One will be in time with the Commonwealth Head of Governments Meeting (C.H.O.G.M.) hosted by our country in 2024."
