Newly minted Seaman E-1 TJ Patu from the village of Leone graduated from Navy Boot Camp at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center north of Chicago, Illinois, near the western shore of Lake Michigan last week Friday, July 7, 2023. Seaman Patu is pictured here with his proud parents —Leota and Anna Patu from the village of Leone who said, "We are so proud of our son that he was the only Samoan that graduated from that group of about 600. He was so humble and proud with American Samoa flag."
