Colorado Spring, COLORADO — Leone High School Class of 2020 co- Valedictorian, Serenalia May Iona (middle) was among cadets who recently participated in a ceremony of acceptance into the Cadet Wing, Class of 2024, at the U.S Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

“We received our shoulder boards which signify our promotion from Basics to Cadets,” she said in a message to Samoa News — along with this photo, which shows that the military is complying with COVID-19 preventive measures by wearing face-masks during the ceremony.

She sends sincere appreciation and thanks to her family and others for their continued prayers and support, especially to her mother.
